Must-see attractions in Inverness city centre include Inverness Castle, which sits proudly on a hill overlooking the city. Here, you can see the castle exhibition and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes from the castle viewpoint. Also, don’t miss Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. A fascinating place where you’ll learn all about the history of the Highlands through its wonderful artefacts and collections. We also love Inverness Botanic Gardens, a tranquil haven with formal gardens, secret garden, tropical house and cactus house, plus a café and shop, right here in the city centre!

Explore the past in Inverness and the surrounding Highlands of Scotland with these captivating historic attractions. From the ancient Clava Cairns, one of the best preserved prehistoric sites in Scotland. To the tragic battleground of the Battle of Culloden, where the last battle of the Jacobite Risings came to a quick and bloody end.
