Kingsmills Team ‘kicks for a cause’ with charity football fundraiser

Sneckie Soccer Fives Charity Football

On Saturday 10th June, Team Kingsmills gathered to take part in Sneckie Soccer Fives. This is a charity football fundraising tournament in aid of Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). Renowned for their passion in giving back to the community, the hotel team were keen to beat last year’s fundraising total and bring home a trophy!

Last year’s team raised just over £500 for the cause. And this year the team smashed that total, raising an incredible £1410! Sadly the team didn’t take home the trophy this year, but had a brilliant time competing!

This year, the event returned to Canal Park in Inverness and saw two teams from the hotel step onto the pitch to compete against over 26 teams from across the city. Our ‘top ten’ included associates from across our food and beverage, banqueting and kitchen departments. And, the atmosphere on the pitch was electric with families, friends and enthusiasts cheering on from the sidelines!

Sneckie Soccer Fives

In 2022, Sneckie Soccer Fives event raised £23,000, its highest-ever total, for CHAS and Save the Children Ukraine Fund. The aim is to encourage folk of all ages to share both the physical benefits of the game and the privilege of raising funds. In turn, supporting CHAS to deliver its services throughout the Highlands and Islands. CHAS provides respite and end-of-life care for children with life-shortening conditions and their families, across Scotland. In the Highlands, families are supported by a specialist CHAS at Home nursing team based in Inverness. CHAS is a registered charity SC019724.
