Royal Ascot Ladies Day at Kingsmills
Kingsmills Hotel hosts charity race day
At Kingsmills, we are committed to supporting local causes. And since 2022, we have partnered with Mikeysline to deliver a calendar of fundraising events.
On Thursday 22nd June, we saw the return of the much-loved Royal Ascot Ladies Day. A sell out event centred around the Royal Ascot horse-racing event.
The grand auction
Guests arrived to a glass of Pimms enjoyed in the Kingsmills Gardens. We had transformed the gardens into an outdoor ‘paddock’ ahead of today’s races. Guests then took their tables in the Kingsmills Suite for a stunning 3-course lunch. The menu featured a salmon rillettes starter, roast chicken breast and a white chocolate panna cotta.
Following lunch, the generosity of the room and the local community was on display as a grand auction took place along with a silent auction. Incredible prizes were donated from far and wide, including the highlight; two tickets to the Randox Grand National Racing Hospitality Event at the Aintree Racecourse in 2024 inclusive of a champagne reception, lunch, afternoon tea and accommodation!
With the talented Alex Fleming hosting the afternoon, guests then enjoyed a musical performance from the incredibly talented Callum Beattie! Born in Edinburgh, Callum topped the Scottish Albums chart with his first album ‘People Like Us’. He has played at multiple festivals across the U.K, including Glastonbury.
The Royal Ascot races
Finally, it was time to head outside for the first of seven Royal Ascot Races. Thanks to the organisation of a race-night style tote by Stephen and Calum Laurie, guests could place bids on the horses, with the charity benefitting from each and every bid. As anticipation built around each race and our guests relaxed under the blue skies and sunshine, this was an exceptional afternoon.
We are thrilled to announce that an incredible £36,500 was raised for the mental health charity, Mikeysline.
This event comes after two hugely successful charity golf days in aid of the charity in 2022 and 2023. Bringing a total combined fundraising total from 3 events of £115,000.
We could not be more grateful to the local businesses, the community and the team who have come together to support this incredibly important cause.
