Dores

Visit Dores on the shores of Loch Ness, during your adventures around the loch. This small village is situated near the top end of Loch Ness, around 10 km from Inverness. The main attraction in Dores is its beautiful shingle beach with stunning views across the water. There is also a popular pub just beside the beach.

Loch Ness and Torr Woods walk

The Loch Ness and Torr Woods walk is a picturesque route, which takes you along Dores Beach, through peaceful woodland and past Aldourie Castle. Watch out for wildlife in the woods, including red squirrels, roe deer and a variety of birds. You can get the full walking directions here.

Why not pop into the Dores Inn for a wee break? This welcoming country retreat boasts great food, wine and ales. Located right on the shores of Loch Ness, you can enjoy the views while keeping warm and cosy.
