Winter festivals happening in Inverness

Festivals & events this winter 2024

As we enter September, the summer festivals in Inverness are over and our thoughts turn towards the winter months. Here, we’re rounding up the best festivals and celebrations to look forward to in winter 2024. So, let’s take a look…

Bonfire Night

5 November 2024

Inverness will host its annual Bonfire and Fireworks Night at Bught Park on Tuesday 5 November 2024. Fireworx Scotland will once again put on a spectacular display to celebrate this fantastic winter festival. There will also be a variety of local food on offer. Entertainment starts at 5.30 pm with the fireworks display at 7 pm.

Inverness Christmas

November to January

There’s plenty going on throughout the festive season. From the Christmas fair to the annual festive panto, both taking place at Eden Court in Inverness. The Exclusively Highands Christmas Fair will be held on 15th, 16th, 17th, 29th and 30th November, plus 1st December. The panto will tell the story of Jack and the Beanstalk this year, with plenty of laughs for all the family, between 4th December and 5th January. We’ll also be holding our own festive dining and parties here at the Kingsmills, so you can get together with friends and family in the run up to the big day.

Unfortunately, the Red Hot Highland Fling will not be taking place this Hogmanay in Inverness city centre. However, we will be putting on our famous Hogmanay Gala Dinner here at the Kingsmills Hotel. Starting at 7.30 pm, join us for a delicious 3-course dinner, followed by a hooley into the wee sma’ hours. Please book your places in advance.

Burns Night

25 January 2025

Burns Night is a Scottish festival celebrated up and down the country. Whether you choose to hold your own event or attend an organised Burns Supper, it’s a time to gather with friends and family, drink whisky, eat haggis and recite Robert Burn’s iconic poetry. Check out Inverness Burns Club for details of their annual event, which is usually held next door to the Kingsmills at Inverness Golf Club on the Friday closest to Burns Night.
