Spectacular spring wedding ideas

Ideas and inspiration for a spring Scottish wedding

We love spring at the Kingsmills Hotel. As this glorious season comes to an end, we’re already thinking about next year’s spectacular spring weddings! So if you’re busy planning a wedding for next spring, here are some ideas to help and inspire you. As nature bursts into life, spring symbolises new beginnings, making this a fantastic time to start married life together.

Spring florals

For many, spring is all about florals. This is the time of year when nature awakes and colourful flowers begin to bloom. Choose a beautiful florals theme to make the most of the season, using spring flowers that bloom in Scotland. You could use floral motifs on your wedding stationery, seasonal blooms in your bouquet, and delicate sugar flowers on your wedding cake. Show-stopping floral decorations, such as flower arches and ceiling hangings can create drama and romance.

Spring colours

Spring colour palettes tend to favour soft pastel tones and natural shades. Colours that reflect flowers and foliage, like yellow, pink and green are popular. You can use a colour palette generator such as Coolors or Scheme Color to help you choose a scheme.

Spring weather

As spring arrives in Scotland, the days get longer and the weather gets warmer. There is a wonderful sense of energy and optimism. And with it comes the opportunity to spend more time outdoors. However, you can never know for sure what the weather is going to do. So if you plan any outdoor celebrations, it’s worth having an indoor backup plan, just in case. Keep an eye on the weather forecast in the run-up to your big day!
