Our child-friendly wedding venue in Inverness

If your wedding guest list includes young children, we’ve got you covered at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness. Our large, flexible, child-friendly wedding venue welcomes guests of all ages. We offer a three-course children’s menu for the wedding breakfast, for all under 12s, and you can select 2 options per course. For families staying over at the hotel, we also have spacious family rooms sleeping up to 2 adults and 3 children. Your Kingsmills Wedding Co-ordinator will be with you every step of the way to ensure your day runs smoothly, and if you have any special requests for the little ones, we can make them happen. For example, we can set up a Kid’s Corner with fun activities, or we can help you arrange Children’s Entertainment to keep them amused. Whatever you need, just ask.

Put together an activity pack

Put an activity pack and crayons at each child’s place setting. This is a great way to keep the kids happy during the wedding breakfast, speeches and reception. You can find printable wedding-themed packs online. Or you might want to make your own activity sheets with personalised details, which can also make a lovely keepsake for them to look back on.

Set up a Kid’s Corner

You could set up a space just for the kids, with books, toys, games and activities, allowing all the children to play together and get to know one another.

Outdoor games and activities

On a warm day, you may choose to have drinks outside as part of your day. Why not set up some fun games on the lawn, such as giant Jenga or Skittles? The grown-ups will surely join in too!

Give out child-friendly favours

If you are giving out wedding favours, consider something a little different for your younger guests. Such as bubbles, balloons, mini toys or puzzles.

Book a children’s entertainer

Many children’s party entertainers offer special wedding packages, where they will come along at a chosen time to delight the little ones with stories, songs, magic tricks and more.

Have a designated quiet room

Set up a comfortable space where families can go if they need a bit of quiet time, away from the noise of the band or disco. This can be very useful for those with babies and young children.
