Inverness sees the return of the Shortbread Showdown in March, and you are invited!
The first round kicks off on the 24th of February at Inverness Botanic Gardens. Then, the grand finale will take place on the 17th of March at Eden Court Highlands in front of a line-up of judges. The Inverness Shortbread Showdown 2024
Master bakers and aspiring confectioners from across the region will converge at Inverness Botanic Gardens for the first round! At this event the general public will be in charge of preceedings. They will be entrusted with sampling all of the business’s shortbread and voting for their favourite! The top 3 businesses who get the most votes on the day will go through to the final.
Grand Finale at Eden Court Highlands
In 2023, eight Highland destinations and 63 entrants were represented at the show. And, 21 finalists made it to the finale with Head Chef Paul from Mackenzies Bakery on the Isle of Skye crowned the first Shortbread Showdown winner.
On Sunday 17th March 2024 at Eden Court, Inverness, the final will take place from 10am to 3pm. The air will be full of anticipation as participants showcase their creativity and expertise to win the hearts of our esteemed judges. Who will be crowned the winner?!
