The Highlands of Scotland are set to groove to the rhythm of the blues as the City of Inverness welcomes the inaugural Inverness International Blues Festival to the city’s historic Northern Meeting Park next Spring.

Blues Dinner Experience

Kick off the weekend with an intimate Blues Dinner Experience on Friday 27th March 2026 at The Kingsmills Hotel. Guests will enjoy a carefully curated three-course menu, perfectly paired with the high-energy sounds of Inverness band ‘The Two Five Ones‘.

About the Band

The Two Five Ones are well-known local musicians with a repertoire of jazz and blues who are coming together specially for our event. Playing regularly in support of top musicians visiting Inverness’s highly acclaimed jazz club, the five piece will showcase their talents during and after dinner.

From smooth, late-night swing to groove-driven blues and soulful ballads, their sound creates the perfect atmosphere for relaxed dining that naturally builds into an evening of feel-good energy.

The band features John Sharkey on saxes, Adrain Beckwith on keys, Neil Sharkey on bass, Steven Curley on guitar and Michael Sharkey on drums. Their repertoire draws on timeless jazz standards, blues favourites, and re-imagined classics, offering something familiar yet fresh – they can often be heard as Inverness Jazz Club House Band who play regularly at Wasps Creative Academy supporting visiting guest musicians.

Expect an evening where exceptional food meets live music, creating a relaxed, immersive dining experience with just the right touch of rhythm and soul.

Conclude your weekend with a leisurely Sunday lunch, set to the soulful sounds of Blueness. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon, this three-course menu pairs beautifully with blues-infused rhythms.

About the Band:

Blueness is a dynamic five-piece band featuring guitar, sax/clarinet, drums, and bass, with the versatile and magnetic Catriona Sutherland on vocals. From Janis Joplin and Etta James to Norah Jones and Joan Armatrading, Blueness navigates blues classics, blues-rock, jazz-infused blues, and original compositions with ease.

Known for their energy and local following, Blueness brings a lively atmosphere wherever they play. Whether in Inverness bars or at special events, guests leave with smiles and perhaps even a little dancing in their step.
