Culloden Battlefield
Extensively refurbished with a new visitor centre in 2007 The battlefield where
the final Jacobite uprising
ended in 1746. There is an exhibition of Jacobite items, plus an auditorium with a
multilingual visual/audio programme.

Cromarty
The most perfect example of a Scottish seaport of the 18th century, Cromarty is

Groam House Museum
Before the Scots arrived from Ireland, the original inhabitants of Scotland were the
Picts. You can
see a video showing the Picts in Ross-shire and the Brahan Seer. On view are Pictish
stones and you can also make rubbings of Pictish symbols.

Cawdor Castle
Arguably the most romantic castle in the Highlands, Cawdor Castle has many
paintings, tapestries, furniture and books to view. The tower and drawbridge are
still intact. The gardens provide lovely walks and there is a nature trail
and a 9 hole golf course and putting green. The castle is referred to in Macbeth.

Holms Mill Shopping Village - James Pringle Weavers
Learn about tartan at the new weaving exhibition and the history and traditions of
highland weaving. There are interactive displays and the opportunity to work the
mill. There are various shops i.e. the Highlander Coffee Shop, souvenir
shops and the Scottish Food Shop.

Loch Ness
Due to a massive fracture in the earth's crust 380 million years ago, the result
was the formation of the Great Glen of which Loch Ness is part of take a trip on the
loch aboard the Jacobite Queen and be prepared to do some "Nessie" spotting
whilst on your trip. Get off the boat at Urquhart Castle and tour the ruins before
making your way up to the roadside where you will be collected and taken to Loch
Ness 2000 exhibition where the many secrets and myths of the "Nessie" sightings
are explored.
Loch Ness is able to hold more water than all the lakes and reservoirs in England
and Wales put together

Brodie Castle
Home of the largest collection of Daffodils in the UK The castle, built in the 16th
century houses a wide collection of furniture, porcelain, Dutch and English

Dunrobin Castle
A fairytale castle overlooking the sea and Gardens Home to Lord Strathnaver it is

Fort George
The fortress was built by the British after the battle of Culloden, this fort has
never been used in battle but was an impressive deterrent. Home to the Irish
Regiment the Fort has a museum and visitor centre and is open to the public all
year, offers family events on selected dates during the summer months.
